"There's a Better Way to Get Your Bill...
"
... And this is it! This is your new e-bill,
a much easier way to receive and view your monthly billing from us. More than
half of our customers also have our HomeLAN internet service, so e-billing especially
makes sense for all of them (including you).
Everyone knows the problems associated with the old paper bills sent through
the mail. First, there is the time and expense associated with printing out
a paper bill, buying the paper products, finding a place to store them, maintaining the
printers and bill folding and stuffing equipment, and the manpower involved
in transporting 8,000 bills per month to the post office. Then there are the
problems with the mail after the bills finally get to the post office. There,
this important information gets mixed in with all of the tons of junk mail and
credit card offers that fill your mailbox every day. All too often, our bills
get lost in this storm of junk and never arrive at your home. All of this adds
to the frustration of our daily lives, but the EPB's e-billing cuts though all
of that mess.
For quite some time we've offered e-billing to our customers. In the past
we offered it only to those willing to allow us to automatically deduct the
amount of the bill from their bank account. In return those people received
a $1 credit on their bill each month. Now we've expanded the program!
It is really simple and you're looking at the result. We take all of the information
you normally get from us, put it into an email and send it to you. Of course,
the bill portion is at the bottom of the email giving you a summary of your
electric, cable, Internet, and soon, telephone monthly bill totals. If
you want greater detail on how we arrived at your monthly total, you can move
your mouse over the different totals, then just click and the detailed information
will appear on the screen!
As we venture into telephone service and expand our product offerings in our
other lines of business, we certainly do not want to mimic the existing telephone
companies by stuffing your mail box with more and more envelopes full of pages
and pages of cryptic billing information. This e-billing gives us a way to give
you one bill with as much, or as little, billing detail as you want to see without
using any wasteful paper billing procedures. This is another way for us to maintain
our extremely low costs for our services. We feel certain that you will agree
that this is truly the best way to get your monthly bill from us.
Now that you have signed up for e-billing, you will no longer get a paper
bill in the mail and you will start saving $1 per month on your bill as well
as your time and all the paper. If we are sending the e-bill to the wrong address,
let us know what we are doing wrong and which address we should be using for
the e-bill (just give us a call at 651-8341 or email us at epb@glasgow-ky.com).
Thanks for helping us make this great leap toward greater efficiency in our
billing procedures.
Want to pay your bill
by credit card or debit card? You can now pay your bill with Visa, MasterCard,
Discover or American Express online! There is a catch, though. You must
sign up for the EPB's e-billing.
This new program
does not mean automatic bank draft (that was the only option when
the program first started). e-billing only means that you get your bill
by email instead of through the regular mail. When you get your monthly
e-bill, there will be a link to pay by credit or debit card. Simply follow
that link and make your payment (the entire transaction is encrypted for
security). This option is available only through e-billing and is not
available after the "last day for payment."
You may also use your
credit or debit card to make your payment weekdays during regular office
hours (8:00am-4:30pm). Simply call us at 651-8341, then enter "2" for
the Customer Service Dept. We'll need a little information from you. Call
us if you have any questions.
